My Dear Michael,
I am so happy to hear from you. I hope you’re staying healthy and well.
Kuma (as you’ll recall, is my little doggie) had a boo-boo on his tiny foot that required some minor surgery
but he’s okay now. He’s wearing one of those ghastly collars around his
neck to prevent him from licking the bandaged wound.
Anyhow, it’s thrilling to hear from you. Do you ever get over to the Los
Angeles area? It would be so nice to have you over for lunch some
afternoon. What kind of food do you like? I have an excellent cook who
also does the grocery shopping and she can cook practically anything. I
can’t handle spicy anymore though…sensitive tummy, you understand.
I read your latest correspondence and it all sounds so complicated. Who
pays for the lawyer? Will you be able to handle all the details and
just tell me what to do? It’s just more than I can understand by
myself.
I don’t have a drivers license. Haven’t driven in many years and I
don’t have a passport either. I do have my social security card, if I
can remember where it is and I also have my library card. I don’t read
much anymore as I get tired easily and fall asleep. I do watch quite a
bit of television. I recently got what they call a flat screen HDTV or
something. It’s quite wonderful.
Send me your address and I’ll send you a picture of Kuma. You will just
love the cute little guy. Oops, I’m being called for lunch.
Bye my dear, God Bless, Martha.

MICHAEL:
Hello Martha, I am so sorry to hear that Kuma had a boo-boo on his
feet.i thank God he is okay now.i hadly get to LA but when we are
through i think i will definetely come to LA to pay a visit so we have
lunch.
Talking about who is to handle the the cost of retaining the services
of an attorney will definetely be handled by me while you will be the
one to open an account in your name in an offline corresponding bank.
if you can find your social security card or your library card and send
to me then the attorney can commence with the paper work.its imperative
you send this details as soon as possible.
Warmest regards Micheal Thomas esq.

MARTHA: (Martha sent this before receiving the above snippy email from
Michael).
Hello Dear Michael,
I spent the weekend back at La Costa having a marvelous time getting
pampered and lavished upon. You really should plan on going there when
you come for lunch (as my guest, of course). It has everything you can
imagine a fine spa could possibly have. Most of which I don’t even
bother with, what with my age and all. Lots of young people like
yourself play tennis, enjoy golf, get massages and who knows what else.
Kuma and I enjoy all the pampering and I do so love the waters.
Shouldn’t we be getting on with our “business?” (sheee…haven’t told a
soul, my lips are sealed). I hope the lawyer is not a woman. I had a
dreadful experience with a woman lawyer once while settling my late
husbands estate and would never trust another woman lawyer. I won’t
bore you with the details but take my word for it she was not a nice
person. Nuff said about that.
I forget Michael, where do you live? You probably told me but you know
at my age a thing or two can slip my mind now and then. When will you be
visiting for lunch? I do like to plan these things as best I can. Oh, I
remember, you need to tell me where to send the things you asked for.
You probably already told me but I forget, please print it BIG (like
this – “BIG”) so I’ll not miss it.
Take good care of yourself Michael. I just love our little chats. If
you like I can send you a picture of Kuma. He is so cute I know you’ll
like him.
One more thing Michael. Do you know what date I’ll be receiving my
money? I don’t mean to sound too pushy but I was just wondering. Also,
please tell me about yourself such as, are you married? Do you have
lovely children? I’d enjoy very much seeing pictures.
God Bless, Martha

More coming? You should do these twice a week. I’m old, no patience left!
Barbara,
Martha and Michael do quiet a bit of corresponding, and since I, like you, am old with little patience, I’ll follow your suggestion and publish their love letters both Mondays and Thursdays.
Yeah! Thanks. These are great.
